Revision clouds are polylines that consist of sequential arcs. They are used to call attention to parts of a drawing during the review stage.
A revision cloud is a polyline of sequential arcs to form a cloud-shaped object. If you review or redline drawings, you can increase your productivity by using the revision cloud feature to highlight your markups.
You can create a revision cloud from scratch, or you can convert objects, such as a circle, ellipse, polyline, or spline, to a revision cloud. A style is available to make the cloud look as though it was drawn with a calligraphy pen.
Creating a revision cloud in AutoCAD is a useful way to highlight and mark changes or revisions made to a drawing. Here's how to create a revision cloud in AutoCAD:
Note: AutoCAD commands and tools are generally in English, so you'll need to use the English terminology for these actions, even when working with the Malayalam language version of AutoCAD.
1. Open Your Drawing:
- Launch AutoCAD and open the drawing file to which you want to add a revision cloud.
2. Access the Revision Cloud Command:
- There are a few ways to access the Revision Cloud command:
- Type "REVCLOUD" in the command line and press "Enter."
- Find the "Revision Cloud" tool in the "Annotate" or "Draw" tab of the ribbon.
3. Specify the Start Point:
- After activating the Revision Cloud command, AutoCAD will prompt you to specify the start point of the cloud.
- Click a point in your drawing where you want the cloud to begin.
4. Draw the Cloud:
- To draw the revision cloud, move your cursor to create a freehand shape that encompasses the area you want to highlight.
- Click at multiple points to define the shape of the cloud.
- You can make the cloud as simple or complex as needed to highlight the revision area.
5. Complete the Cloud:
- To complete the revision cloud, either press "Enter" or right-click and choose "Close."
- AutoCAD will then create the revision cloud shape.
6. Edit the Cloud (Optional):
- After creating the revision cloud, you can edit its shape by using the "Edit Cloud" tool, which allows you to add or remove vertices, adjust the size, or modify the shape as needed.
7. Exit the Command:
- Once you are satisfied with the revision cloud, exit the Revision Cloud command by pressing "Enter" or using the "Esc" key.
8. Save Your Drawing:
- Be sure to save your drawing to retain the revision cloud and any other changes you've made.
